Ingredients:
- 1 box of spaghetti
- 1 lb. salchichon (Dominican salami), cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 green pepper, diced (or red pepper)
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- ¼ cup pitted green olives
- 1 packet Goya sazon
- 2 tsp salt (will use 1 tsp at a time)
- ¼ tsp pepper (more or less to taste)
- ¼ tsp oregano (more or less to taste)
- 1 cup tomato paste
- 1 ½ cups tomato sauce (Spanish tomato sauce)
- ½ cup evaporated milk (optional – can also use a milk substitute)
- Shredded or diced chicken
- Ham
- Pork sausage
- Parmesan cheese, grated (or your favorite grated cheese)
- Chopped cilantro
Instructions:
- Prepare a pot of water with 1 tsp of salt for the spaghetti. When water begins to boil, add the pasta. Once done cooking, drain the water and set the spaghetti aside.
- Before cooking the salami and vegetables make sure to have it all prepped and ready to go.
- Cut the salchichon into 1-inch cubes.
- In a separate pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Cook and stir the salami until it browns.
- One at a time, add the onions, peppers, olives, and garlic. Cook and stir for about 2 minutes until blended.
- Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, Goya sazon, 1 tsp of salt, and oregano, cover and simmer on medium heat for about 3-5 minutes. Set the heat to low.
- Add the milk and the spaghetti. Make sure to stir well until the milk is completely mixed through. Do not let the milk boil. You can add more salt and pepper to taste.
- Sprinkle grated parmesan and serve. Can be served alone or with your favorite side dish.
